Red Alert knows my name?!?!?!?!
I remember meeting Red for the first time when he and Wendy Williams had a show together on 98.7kissfm. This was 91' or 92'. My dude/mentor Chris Mercado @chrisque11 got me an interview with Red Alert for one of my college classes. My sister @trina_peeps was with me! Wendy Williams was thick at this time...and she flirted with me as i walked in! Word Life! My sister was like "Oh lawd! Now he gonna have a big head!" She has called me big head ever since!
Anyway...thank you again for that interview Red!
The next time we met, i was doing a party in the legendary Skate Key roller skating rink in the Bronx, NY. For the record, I was the first promoter that they let do a party in skate key on Allerton Ave!
Video Music Box and Ralph McDaniels was there too! Skate Key was packed! That night was unbelievable! Because of that night, I got to promote at the legendary "Fever Night Club" but thats another story! S/o to Sal @feverrecords & Gungie @johngungierivera for giving me a shot!
Whats crazy about this night was, Red was still on the radio when we started the party. So, I had to DJ until he got there. My partner at the time, Divine, had to go pick him up in his white, 15 passenger, work van! LOL. RED HAD MAD CRATES OF RECORDS!!!!!! It took us 15 minutes to unload the van.
Ffwd to Atlanta:
When we started JAMES EVANS you were always supportive. You always picked up the phone or called me right back. For those that don't know, Red Alert did our second official JAMES EVANS event. Chubb Rock @chubbrock hosted and Red mixed for 5 hours straight... he didn't event go to the bathroom! Then, for our next event, you and Money Russ @soundview.standup rocked the entire BIG DADDY KANE party! @officialbigdaddykane
Next, we made history -
THE ATLANTA SOUL KITCHEN ft. DJ KEMIT & KOOL DJ RED ALERT That has always been my favorite party! You and @djkemit are a team not to be played with!

Red, you are a TRUE GENTLEMEN. Before we ever discuss business, you always asks about my family, my team, my health, and how are things going in my life!
